Cole Weber Scores Victory in Caution Free OSCAAR Hot Rod Feature

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OSCAAR – DURHAM, ONT – In one of the most impressive features of the season that saw the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Hot Rods run all 30 laps without a caution, it’d be Cole Weber scoring the victory.

Weber is no stranger to Full Throttle Motor Speedway, picking up the checkered flag at the quarter-mile last season. Starting near the front, he wasted no time in making his way forward, taking the lead on Lap 8. From there, he did not look back en route to visiting McColl Racing Enterprises victory lane.

Kenny McNicol mounted a charge in the late stages, coming up short with a runner-up ahead of Tyler Hawn. Steve Book and Travis Farrow completed the top-five.

FTMS regular Matt Hopkins was sixth ahead of Rob Bromley, Thomas Wunsch, Brian Wilson Jr., and Connor Ellis.

Steve McCaw was 11th, followed by Ryan Cowan, Brian Wilson Sr., Hailey McNicol, Trevor Critchley, Nathan Dettweiler, and Matt Spry.

Bromley Automotive heat wins went to Kenny McNicol, Matt Hopkins, Steve Book, and Cole Weber.

Hawn now holds a 15-point advantage atop the standings ahead of Bromley and Book.

The next race for the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Hot Rods is on Saturday, August 3 at Peterborough Speedway. The night also features the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modifieds, Bone Stocks, Mini Stocks, Renegrade Trucks, and Kids’ Races. The event will also feature a pre-race corn roast.
