Inclement Weather Postpones Rebel Yell to Sunday; Southern Nationals Reshuffles Schedule

Story By: RYAN DELPH / SOUTHERN NATIONALS SERIES – SYLVANIA, GA – Early evening rain showers at Screven Motor Speedway tonight have postponed the 25th Annual ‘Rebel Yell’ to Sunday afternoon, July 21. Pit gates will open at the Sylvania, Georgia facility at 8:00am with the grandstands opening at 12:00pm. The Drivers Meeting is set for 1:00pm and Hot Laps will take to the track at 1:30pm. Registration for the $10,053 to win Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series event is still open – any driver wanting to race can still enter on Sunday.

The rain date of Sunday was made available by the postponement of the scheduled race at Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia. With several straight days of rain, the track and grounds were in no shape to host a race tomorrow. Amid the recent rain outs at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia (Thursday), East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama (Friday), and Swainsboro Raceway (Sunday), the series is happy to announce that each of the three events have been rescheduled.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco will now invade Swainsboro Raceway on Thursday, August 1 for $7,553 to win, East Alabama Motor Speedway on Friday, August 2 for $7,553 to win, and Senoia Raceway on Saturday, August 3 for the ‘Roscoe Smith Classic’ paying $7,544 to win. Each of these make-up races will be non-point events. The 2024 series Champion will still be crowned at Tazewell Speedway and all point money will be paid out following the ‘Ray Varner Ford 75’ next Saturday, July 27 at the bad-fast Tazewell, Tennessee oval.
