Storm Halts Canadian Classic: Brockville Speedway Reschedules Super DIRTCar Showdown For September

Story By: TIM BALTZ / BROCKVILLE ONTARIO SPEEDWAY – BROCKVILLE, ONT – Mother Nature tired at will to stop the Super DIRTCar Series Canadian Classic at the Brockville Ontario Speedway this past Wednesday night but the track crews fought off the first attempt and it appeared we were headed for a great night of racing action.

Following the hot laps, time trials and Northeast Late Model Alliance heats, a nearby tornado changed the direction of a few rain clouds, as a major down pour took place as the first Super DIRTCar Series heat race was about to head track side.

Cars were sent back to their pit stalls and with the amount of rainfall accumulation, officials at Brockville and DIRTCar Northeast, were forced to postpone the event.

The big blocks will make their return to the speedway on Thursday September 5th, which will begin three nights of Super DIRTCar Series action, as they travel to Can Am Friday night for the RD Hutchinson Memorial then off to Weedsport for the Cavalcade Weekend.

Fans are reminded to save their ticket stub or wrist band from Wednesday night, as it will be valid for the make up date.

A reminder that “The BOS” takes this coming Saturday night off before coming back to action with a full program of racing Saturday August 3rd, which includes the return of the Empire Super Sprints.

The green flag flies with opening ceremonies and the national anthems at 7pm.
