Story By: JEFFREY AHLUM / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – With thunderstorms throughout the Berks County region during the afternoon, and more forecasted for race time during the evening hours, the planned racing events for Saturday, August 3 have been canceled for this week at Grandview Speedway.
Following a miserable month of May, where the track suffered through rain each weekend and only completed one race event, Grandview Speedway was able to spin off nine consecutive Saturday night programs plus two Thunder on the Hill special events during the months of June and July before encountering tonight’s rain out.
Everyone will now look ahead to next week as Grandview Speedway will be presenting another NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program featuring the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman.
The show on Saturday, August 10 will be a special night, as the founder and builder of Grandview Speedway, Forrest Rogers, will be remembered with the 54th running of the Forrest Rogers Memorial 50-lap championship race for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds which will pay $10,000 to the race winner!
The program will include qualifying events for both classes leading into the 50-lap T.P. Trailer Forrest Rogers Memorial Modified feature and a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman.
Action should be intense next Saturday night as it has all season long, as there have been nine different drivers scoring wins in T.P. Trailer Modified racing, along with eleven different winning drivers in T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman action.
Pit gates will open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.
Adult grandstand admission is $30, students 10-15 with ID are $15, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.
With several extras on the schedule for the next couple of weeks, the Kid’s Money scramble scheduled for Saturday night has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 31.
