Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OSCAAR – PETERBOROUGH, ONT – Taking the green flag on the front row, Wally Wilson did not let up until he saw the checkered flag on Saturday at Peterborough Speedway.
A strong qualifying effort allowed Wilson to make the invert, putting him on the pole for the 40-lap feature. He broke out to the early advantage, and stretched it until a mid-race caution. Despite the restart, he did not let up, once again gapping the competitors behind him. He then led the rest of the way en route to Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC victory lane.
Notably, Wilson becomes the ninth consecutive different driver to win a Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified event dating back to October 2023 at Flamboro Speedway’s Frostoberfest.
A.J. Emms moved his way up into second, with his challenge on the restart coming up short. Jason Keen completed the podium ahead of Steve Trendell and Dave Mathers.
Shane Pollock pulled off with issues on Lap 25 after contact early in the event, while Brad Pearsall made his way down pit road on Lap 18 for seventh.
T.J Edwards saw his night end early, as a result of mecahnical issues under pace laps for the second heat. He would get Rick Spencer-Walt to run for his points in the feature, forcing Spencer-Walt to start tail of the field giving up his original sixth-place starting spot. It did not go as they would have hoped, with Spencer-Walt completing only 11 laps after contact with Pollock saw him go around.
Bromley Automotive heat wins went to A.J. Emms (x2), Steve Trendell, and Rick Spencer-Walt.
T.J Edwards holds a four-point advantage over Jason Keen in the series standings.
The Just Foam It OSCAAR Modifieds are back in-action at Sauble Speedway on Saturday, August 17.
