Justin Bonsignore Looks To Carry Momentum To Thompson Speedway

Story By: KYLE SOUZA / JUSTIN BONSIGNORE MOTORSPORTS – HOLTSVILLE, NY – With momentum from a third-place finish at Lancaster Motorplex on his side, Justin Bonsignore will be back at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park this week.

During a mid-week special event on Wednesday, August 14, Bonsignore will drive the No. 51 Kenneth Massa Motorsports machine in the Thompson 150.

The 10th event of 16 on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour schedule brings Bonsignore and the team back to a track where he’s had plenty of success. The New York native has 13 career Thompson wins – the most of all active drivers. He is only two wins away from tying Mike Stefanik for the most all-time at the Connecticut oval.

Bonsignore enters the race just one point behind Ron Silk for the championship lead on the Whelen Modified Tour. Of the seven races remaining, two of them will be at Thompson.

“I think we had great speed at Lancaster and we left there with good confidence in our car and what we want to do heading into Thompson,” Bonsignore said. “Thompson has been a great track for us over the years. We all enjoy running on the high-banks, a place where you carry a lot of speed. The mid-week summer event at Thompson is always exciting for the fans. Our entire team has been working hard to be ready.”

Thompson’s Wednesday schedule includes practice from 4-5 p.m., with qualifying at 6:15 p.m. and the drop of the green flag at 8 p.m. for the Thompson 150. For those who can make it to the track, tickets will be available at the gate.
