Oakley Johns Visits Victory Lane at Thunderhill Raceway Park

Story By: JEREMY PETERS / OAKLEY JOHNS RACING – HOHENWALD, TN – Oakley Johns claimed his second win of the season over the weekend with a clean sweep on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway Park aboard his Johns Timber / Franklin Enterprises / Cale Finley Performance Parts & Fabrication No. c66 Limited Late Model.

The Hohenwald, Tennessee racer followed up the fast time honors with a flag-to-flag victory in the feature to secure his second win of the season at the Tennessee oval.

“I have a lot of sponsors to thank but I want to shout out Billy Franklin with Franklin Enterprises,” Johns said. “He came on board recently and has made significant improvements to my team and has our program headed in the right direction. I am looking forward to working with him and elevating things to the next level.”

Oakley Johns stayed close to home over the weekend with a visit to Thunderhill Raceway (Summertown, Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon to pilot his Franklin Enterprises No. c66 Limited Late Model for the weekly event.

After claiming the overall fast time honors in qualifying, Johns started the 20-lap feature from the pole and led flag-to-flag to pick up his second Limited Late Model victory of the season.

He finished 3.879 seconds ahead of Freddie Smith with Jack Franklin, Jerry Ashley, and Clinton Nichols rounding out the Top-5.

Johns is now preparing to invade the state of Mississippi to compete in the Street Stock ranks for the Southern Street Stock Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park. The massive weekend kicks off with prelims on Thursday and Friday followed by Saturday’s $5,000-to-win finale.
