After Heats, Mother Nature Brings Heavy Rains, Cancelling Remainder Of Commonwealth Clash At Virginia Motor Speedway

Story By: DAVE SEAY / VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY – JAMAICA, VA – After finishing qualifying and heats for all divisions, Mother Nature decided to spoil the party by bringing heavy rains to the area.

Speedway officials tried to wait it out, but the heavy rain would just not let up, forcing officials to cancel the remainder of the Commonwealth Clash presented by Truckin Thunder.

If you did not receive a refund for your ticket, bring it back next week and the speedway will refund the difference in the price of the ticket. Competitors who did not get a refund for their pit pass can bring it back next week as well and get the difference refunded. Any tickets bought online through MyRacePass will automatically be refunded to the card you used to purchase the tickets.

The speedway will return to racing on Saturday, August 24th, to host Joe Hudson’s Collision Centers Championship Night. We will crown champions in all five of the speedway’s Dirt Series Championship Racing divisions, featuring the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified, Joe Hudson’s Collision Centers Limited Stock Car, and Petie’s Radiator Service JuiceBox divisions in action. Spectator gates will open at 5 PM, with racing beginning at 7 PM.
