Story By: JEREMY PETERS / SHANE CLANTON RACING – ZEBULON, GA – Shane Clanton added another accolade to his impressive résumé with his first career Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series victory in Sunday’s rescheduled Independence Shootout at Senoia Raceway aboard his Super K Express / SCCS Solutions / Freeman Plumbing No. 25 Capital Race Cars Late Model.
Clanton powered ahead of early pacesetter Sam Seawright on lap 30 of the feature and paced the final 20 circuits to capture the $15,000 payday and his second win of the 2024 campaign.
“Right off the bat our car was pretty good,” Clanton said. “After the first caution came out I switched up my line and went up to the top and I was able to make it happen. We were running to the top to carry our momentum down the straightaways and it worked out for us. Overall we had an excellent car all weekend, hats off to all my sponsors that help out on the car.”
Shane Clanton made an in-state visit to Senoia (GA) Raceway on Saturday afternoon to join the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series for their rescheduled Independence Shootout.
Against a stacked field of 41 Super Late Models, Clanton stopped the clock fourth-fastest in time trials before capturing a heat race win.
With Mother Nature pushing the main event to Sunday afternoon, Shane quickly went to work and moved past race-long leader Sam Seawright on lap 31. He led the final 20 circuits of the 50-lap affair to secure the $15,000 payday and his first career Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series victory. Ashton Winger, Joseph Joiner, Brandon Overton, and Austin Horton completed the Top-5 finishers.
