Rain & Saturated Grounds Wash Out Sunday’s RUSH Late Model Tour Stop At Tyler County

Story By: MIKE LEONE / RUSH RACING SERIES – MIDDLEBOURNE, WV – Heavy rain throughout the day and night on Saturday, coupled with additional showers on Sunday morning on top of the already saturated the grounds, forced the cancellation of the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Model Flynn’s Tire/Gunter Honey’s Touring Series event scheduled for Sunday night at Tyler County Speedway part of the “Hillbilly 100” with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

All four tries at completing the three Tour events at Tyler County Speedway in 2024 were unsuccessful. It also made for another weekend washout following Saturday’s rain out at Tri-City Raceway Park, and marked the 13th weather cancellation/postponement of an unprecedented and trying season of battling Mother Nature.

Up next will be the “Bill Hendren Memorial” part of the “Pittsburgher” with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series live on FloRacing at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pa. on October 3-4. Friday’s event will pay $4,000 to-win with $10,000 on the line on Saturday night.
