Mikey Homewood Picks Up First Career Surfboard at Sauble Speedway

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OUTLAW MIDGET RACING CLUB – SAUBLE BEACH, ONT – It seems winning is becoming a regular thing for Mikey Homewood, as he was able to pick up his first career Sauble Speedway checkered flag in the Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil action on Saturday.

Mikey Homewood wasted no time making his way to the front of the field, taking the lead on just the third lap on the board. From there on, he stretched out the lead en route to picking up the checkered flag.

Nick Spiesz’s string of consistency continued with a runner-up performance, while Jason Metcalfe rounded the podium. Recent race winner Rob McCall and Rob Harrison completed the top-five.

Russ Couture found himself up front once again in sixth in front of Dave Inglis, Larry Lawson, Wayne McKibbon, and Fred Homewood.

Kurt Lawson was 11th, followed by Kevin Spiesz, Derek Millman, Tyler King, and Brett Dorion.

Kayla Semple was disqualified for unsportsmanship.

Heat wins went to Mikey Homewood, Nick Spiesz, Dave Inglis, and Jason Metcalfe.

The next event for the Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil is at Sunset Speedway on September 21 as part of Fall Velocity.

The Outlaw Midgets are proud to be sponsored by Canadian Tire Innisfil and Falcon Fire & Services for the 2024 season.
