Daniel Wilkerson Joins Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull on NHRA FAST Channel September 4th

Story By: ELON WERNER / TFC – DALLAS, TX – Following the 70th Toyota NHRA U.S. Nationals Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull, the first television offering produced by Werner G+E LLC, will catch up with second generation Funny Car driver Daniel Wilkerson. The interview-style program, hosted by Funny Car driver Buddy Hull is the latest original series added to the NHRA’s 24/7 digital channel which is available on 13 platforms including the Roku Channel (USA & Canada), Tubi, Samsung TV Plus, Sling Freestream, and others. Interested viewers can search NHRA and select the LIVE option on any of these platforms.

“One of my favorite things to do when I’m not working on Funny Cars, is trading racing stories,” said Wilkerson, driver of the SCAG Power Equipment Funny Car. “Getting to sit down with a guy like Buddy who I’ve raced with for a long time and trade stories was fun for me. We just happened to be filming Talkin’ Funny Cars so everyone could see it too. I hope the fans enjoy the stories.”

The Wilkerson episode will feature a wide-ranging interview with the two relative Funny Car newcomers talking about their shared passion for the class while Wilkerson tells stories of learning life and driving lessons from his father, veteran Funny Car driver and crew chief Tim Wilkerson. The SCAG Funny Car driver also talks about his early career, earning his Funny Car license in record time and how family and a CPA career has impacted his racing.

“Getting to talk to Daniel was so cool because I have known him his whole life, but I still learned a lot about him as a person and a Funny Car driver,” said Hull, who raced to the quarterfinals at the U.S. Nationals. “Hosting this show has really opened my eyes to the personalities in the Funny Car class that I thought I knew, but really there are so many stories and insights that are coming out just from talking. Daniel’s interview was highly entertaining, and I think viewers will really love it whether they know anything about Funny Cars or not.”

Future episodes will include sit downs with Paul Lee and Austin Prock. Each episode will be a free-for-all of conversation with the one constant being the Funny Car Fast Five segment, a rapid-fire Q&A getting thoughts and opinions from each guest in quick succession.

Following the original broadcast of each episode of Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull, the show will go into programming rotation on the NHRA FAST Channel. Future new episodes will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST and 8 p.m. PST leading up to select NHRA national events for the rest of the 2024 season.
