Hurricane Francine Strikes Southeast U.S.; Cancels WoO Late Model Weekend At Senoia, Talladega

Story By: MATT SKIPPER / WORLD OF OUTLAWS – SENOIA, GA – Hurricane Francine made landfall in Louisiana on Wednesday, bringing record rainfall, storm surge and hazardous conditions across the southeast.

Keeping the safety of traveling fans and teams in mind, World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model and track officials have agreed to cancel this weekend’s events at Senoia Raceway and Talladega Short Track.

The decision was made with professional weather guidance from Precision Weather Service, who has been tracking the storm. Neither event will be made up. The Series is keeping everyone impacted by the storm in its thoughts and prayers.

Grandstand and Pit Admission tickets from the Saturday, April 20, 2024 portion of the Alabama Gang 100 event may be mailed in for a full refund. Advanced ticket purchasers who purchased tickets through Pit Pay or Ticket Hoss and attended the original race date in April must mail in their armbands to receive a refund. Those who purchased tickets through those ticketing apps for the make-up event will receive a refund to their payment method used to purchase tickets.

You can watch the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models on CBS Sports Network on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 4:00pm ET from the 2024 Prairie Dirt Classic in July where Bobby Pierce captured his first win in the crown jewel event over Nick Hoffman.

The World of Outlaws CASE Late Models now focus on the final race weekend in the southeast at Boothill Speedway on Friday, Sept. 27, and the Texas Torpedo 50 at Rocket Raceway Park on Saturday, Sept. 28. They are the final two stops on the 2024 tour before the championship finale at the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

New Berlin, IL driver Brandon Sheppard leads the Series standings by 54 points over Oakwood, IL driver Bobby Pierce and Mooresville, NC driver Nick Hoffman with five races remaining in the season.
