Luke Baldwin’s Ready To Race In Race Of Champions 250 At Lake Erie Speedway This Weekend

Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – NORTH EAST, PA – Luke Baldwin of Mooresville, NC, who won the Southern Modified Auto Racing Teams “King of the Modifieds” race earlier this season at South Boston (VA) Speedway will be competing at Lake Erie Speedway in the “Greatest Tradition in Modified Racing” this Sunday in the VP Racing Fuels Race of Champions 250.

It will be Baldwin’s first visit to the facility aboard his families famous 7NY racecars, which are now owned by his father, Tommy, Jr.

Baldwin, Jr., will be making the trek back from Bristol (TENN) Motor Speedway on Saturday to guide his son’s efforts in the prestigious race.

“We are looking forward to it,” stated Baldwin, Jr., who has previously had Jon McKennedy and Michael Christopher, Jr., compete in his cars at the event. “We want to win it and be able to put our names on the Al Gerber Trophy. That’s our goal and we believe we can get it done.”

The VP Racing Fuels Race of Champions 250 for the Race of Champions Modified Series is the marquee event on Sunday, September 22.

The Race of Champions Weekend schedule has been released and updated to include a “Friday Night” party in the pits where competitors who participated in practice will be encouraged to leave their cars out as we “open” the pits for an evening together with music and friends to peruse and hangout in the pit area with their favorite drivers following practice for the prestigious race weekend.

Sunday’s VP Racing Fuels Race of Champions 250 is set to roll off just after 4:00pm giving attendees plenty of time to return home following the race. On average the race takes just less than 2 hours to complete.
