Race of Champions Weekend Set for Day Two At Lake Erie; Trisha Connolly Starts Weekend With Victory

Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – NORHT EAST, PA – Following a successful day filled with practice and an incredible Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series, the Race of Champions “Family of Series” moves into day two of Race of Champions Weekend at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, PA.

Trisha Connolly of Palmerton, PA, held off current Series point-leader, Nick Robinson of Waverly, NY, to score the victory in the opening race of the weekend for Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Dash Series. Connolly as well as Robinson travel great lengths to compete in each event. It was her first win on Race of Champions Weekend and her first “silver bowl”.

“This is a great way to begin our weekend,” stated Connolly. “Nick (Robinson) is a tough competitor and he ran us very clean. I want to thank everyone for the great year. This is our third victory and it’s just been a great season. We are looking forward to the rest of the weekend.”

The Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series highlights today’s schedule with a 74-lap feature event. The Race of Champions High as a Hawk Late Model Series will compete in a 40-lap feature crowning the Series champion at the conclusion. The Race of Champions Super Stock Series participates in the great tradition of the “National Parts Peddler 40”, while the Race of Champions Rocket Performance 602 Sportsman Modified and Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series round out the card.

At this point, everything remains on schedule as planned and announced. The grandstands opens for fans at 12:00pm (Noon) with Qualifying beginning at 2:15pm

Sunday’s VP Racing Fuels Race of Champions 250 is set to roll off just after 4:00pm giving attendees plenty of time to return home following the race. On average the race takes just less than 2 hours to complete.
