Woodhull Raceway Extends 2024 Season One Additional Week Due To September 21st Rainout

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – Because the September 21, 2024, event was washed out at the Woodhull Raceway, the decision by track management was made to extend the schedule one extra week to Saturday, October 5, 2024.

“Due to the fact we have a lot going on to close out the season including several season ending special events, we decided to go an extra week to get everything into the books before we call it a year. Crate Sportsman, Hobby Stocks, Street Stocks, 600 cc Modifieds, IMCA Modifieds and more have some decent pay days on the schedule and it is imperative that we make every attempt to get these events completed.” That according to Woodhull Raceway owner/promoter, Nikki Brewer.

Saturday, September 28 will find the original 2024 schedule remaining as posted with the Hometown Excavation Crate Sportsman racing for $2,500. The Sawyer’s RV and Camper Service Center Hobby Stocks will still run the Big Bop/Allison Pierce Memorial. The NYPENN IMCA Modifieds will be on the card to wrap up their 2024 season and point battle. The 600 cc Modifieds will make their first appearance at Woodhull in a decade and a half, and the Empire Crushing RUSH Crate Late Models have been added to the card.

Hobby Stocks will be governed under Woodhull Raceway Track Rules with piles of loot on the line and the 600 cc Modifieds will compete for a winner’s share of $500 with class rules posted on the tracks Facebook!

JT Logging of Addison along with MSP Carquest in Elkland will co-sponsor the September 28, 2024, show.

Then on Saturday, October 5, 2024 the bulk of the rained out September 21 show will return including the Southern Tier Customs Street Stock 100 which is loaded with lap money, the Insinger Performance Modifieds, Sawyer’s Hobby Stocks, Wicked Tee’s Quad C along with the Hometown Excavation Crate Sportsman will make up the card presented by Southern Tier Customs and Big T’s Processing both of Woodhull.

Pit and grandstand wrist bands that were sold prior to the rainout on September 21 will be honored at either the September 28 or October 5 events.

Fans and competitors are reminded that with the change of seasons the Main Grandstand’s for both events opens at 3:30 with the first green flag waving at 5:30 pm.

Thus far in 2024 Woodhull has suffered through seven rained-out events including a show on August 10, 2024, which was cancelled due to area wide flooding which had a direct impact on the region.
