WHAT THEY’RE SAYING:

John Hunter Nemechek Post-Qualifying Quote:

“We made some adjustments to our No. 42 Pye-Barker Toyota Camry XSE during the practice session that had our car feeling good in race trim. During qualifying, I got too tight and that ended up messing up our lap. We had a good run here in the spring and I am confident we’ll be in a similar position for tomorrow’s race.”

Erik Jones Post-Qualifying Quote:

“The No. 43 AdventHealth Toyota Camry XSE was good right off the bat during the first round of practice. After that, I stayed out for a long run and was happy with it. The car was a little bit loose but had really good long-run speed. I felt good about it for qualifying, but we went out super early, so I knew it was going to be tough, but we still got a pretty good lap out of it and ended up 16th. So we will have a decent pit stall and just start out tomorrow and have a good day.”

Jimmie Johnson Post-Qualifying Quote:

“Good day at Kansas. During practice I thought it went very well for us, we made a couple of adjustments and felt like I had a very competitive No. 84 Dollar Tree Family Dollar Toyota on older tires. Then at qualifying, with the tricky, slick conditions here at Kansas Speedway and the lack of reps I have in this Next Gen car really cost me, I made the wrong line selection in turns three and four and maybe wasn’t as aggressive as I need to but its going to be a long race on Sunday and I think we will have a great time.”
