Sunday, September 29 races at Evergreen Raceway are cancelled due to weather forecast

Story By: DINO OBERTO / EVERGREEN RACEWAY – BUTLER TOWNSHIP, PA – Evergreen Raceway has cancelled today’s racing events due to the unfavorable forecast.

“We unfortunately are making the decision to cancel today’s racing events due to the forecast of on and off rain that is predicted around the area,” said owner/promoter Jason Makarewicz.

“With such close standings in the 602 Crate Modifieds and Street Stocks and this being their final points for those divisions we were holding out as long as we can before making the call.”

Because of the cancellation Steve Shultz of Drums has won the 602 Crate Modified title while Freeland’s Mike Pollack captured his third consecutive Street Stock crown.

Racing will return next Sunday afternoon, October 6 at 2:00 pm, with the Tour Type Modifieds, DW & Machine Late Models, Himmer Graphics Four Cylinders, McNulty Funeral Home Novices and the INEX Legends.

It will be the final point races for the Late Models, Four Cylinders and Novices.

Evergreen Raceway’s 2-Seater Ride-along returns on Saturday, October 5, from noon to 3:00 pm and this time around not only will fans once again get to be high-speed passengers but now if they choose they can actually drive the cars themselves which include either a Modified or Late Model.

This event is by reservation only. To reserve a time slot or seek additional information please contact Jason Makarewicz at 570-956-6347.

The 23rd Annual King of the Green will then take place on back-to-back weekends of October 11-12 & 18-19.
