Annual Tribute To Tommy Druar & Tony Jankowiak Up Next For RoC at Lancaster Motorplex

Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – LANCASTER, NY – The Race of Champions Modified Series will make it’s second and final visit of the season to Lancaster (N.Y.) Motorplex this coming Sunday, October 13 for the rescheduled 35th Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar and Tony Jankowiak.

The Race of Champions Modified Series feature will compete in a 110-lap race with the ability to change one tire during the race. It will be the final race of the season, Zane Zeiner of Bath, PA, is seeking his second consecutive Series championship in a competitive season.

Andy Jankowiak of Buffalo, NY, is looking to close out his season with a victory in a race that means a tremendous amount to him.

“It’s going to be a busy week for us,” stated Jankowiak. “We are looking forward to being at Lancaster Saturday, that’s an important race to me, to my family and everyone that supports Modified racing. It’s a big deal for us. Hopefully, we can continue to improve our program. It would be great to win the race again. We are looking forward to it. It will be exciting, we know that much.”

Jack Ely of Northampton, PA, is currently second in the championship standings and won the “Ol’ Boy Cup” at Lancaster back in June when the series first visited the track on June 27.

An additional $5,000 has been raised for this event, which will be distributed through a lap money plan. Each competitor participating in the event will receive something from the fund, which were raised by Laurie Keech Coccionitti.
