Dennis Erb, Jr. Sixth in CJ Rayburn Memorial; Ready to Tackle Eldora for DTWC

Story By: RYAN DELPH / DENNIS ERB RACING – CARPENTERSVILLE, IL – On October 11-12, the Dennis Erb Racing team was in attendance at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana for a pair of high-profile Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns.

Last Friday night in the $10,000 to win ‘CJ Rayburn Memorial,’ Dennis Erb, Jr. clicked off the fifth quickest time in Group A during qualifying prior to placing third in his heat race. After starting the 40-lap feature from the outside of the third row and blasting up to as high as second in the running order, Dennis eventually crossed underneath the checkers in the sixth finishing position behind only winner Ricky Thornton, Jr., Mike Marlar, Bobby Pierce, Tanner English, and Hudson O’Neal.

At the 1/4-mile, semi-banked oval on Saturday evening, a hefty $50,000 winner’s check was up for grabs in the 45th edition of the ‘Jackson 100.’ Dennis stopped the clock sixth fastest in Group B during time trials and later ran second in his loaded heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace, who was celebrating a birthday on Saturday, raced hard for a potential top ten showing in the 100-lap headliner before winding up thirteenth in the final rundown.

The #28 team is currently in the pit area at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for the 44th Annual ‘Dirt Track World Championship.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series finale will once again shell out a $100,000 first place prize. Qualifying and heat races will take place at the “Big E” later tonight, while the consolation events and the 100-lap DTWC are slated for Saturday evening, October 19.
