Westfall Finds Top-5 & Top-10 During BOSS/USAC Sweep Through The Keystone State

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / RAY MARSHALL MOTORSPORTS – FOREST, OH – It was an incredible week in the Keystone State for Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports, not only competing in seven events across a nine-day span, but joining two different sanctioning bodies in the process, the first being the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS), and the second being the USAC National Sprint Cars.

Westfall, ace of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators Inc, Hempy Water, DPI Ink, No. 33M sprint car, earned a pair of top-ten finishes in his week-long sweep through the heart of Pennsylvania, first scoring a third-place performance during BOSS action at Knox Raceway in Knox, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, June 11. The Pleasant Hill, Ohio, native would resume successful activity during a USAC National start at Big Diamond Speedway in Minersville, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, June 15; he finished ninth.

Other Pennsylvania highlights for Westfall and Ray Marshall include a pair of 11th-place scores, one of which during BOSS action at Michaels Mercer Raceway in Mercer, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, June 10. The team would go on to finish 11th at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” on Saturday, June 17; they started 18th on the USAC A-Main lineup.

Certainly no stranger to success with the Ohio-based BOSS Series, Westfall is a recent winner, capturing high honors during a first-ever Series visit to Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky, on Saturday, May 27.

“It was a long and busy week in Pennsylvania, but we wouldn’t want it any other way,” Westfall explained. “We still have a lot left on our June plate. We’ll head in the opposite direction and work toward continuing this team’s success in Wisconsin.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2023 agenda with a USAC National Sprint Cars doubleheader in the Badger State, set to visit Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin, on Saturday, June 24, followed by a stop at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, on Sunday, June 25.
