Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRIAN BROWN RACING – GRAIN VALLEY, MO – Another Knoxville Raceway start resulted in another Knoxville Raceway victory for Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing, and although the Higginsville, Missouri, native is certainly no stranger to the Sprint Car Capital of the World, his recent open wheel triumph sticks out above the rest, accomplishing his eventual feat from the outside of row four. For Brown, the Knoxville Mid-Season Championship victory bumped his career total to 64 at the Speedway, four of which occurring during the 2023 season.
As noted, Brown, ace of the Brian Brown Racing, Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Mt. Dew Overdrive, HAWK Hunting, Ditzfeld Transfer, No. 21 sprint car, started eighth on Saturday’s grid, driving forward in a hurry before taking command from Lynton Jeffrey on lap eight. Impressive enough, Brown was up to third by lap three, taking second the very next circuit.
Brown’s preliminary effort was just as impressive, kicking off Knoxville’s program with the fastest qualifying time, racing on to finish second during heat race competition.
“Overall, just a great effort. Came out late and set quick time, then finished second in the heat. Ended up drawing an eight for the feature, which made me a little nervous considering the company we were with. But we were able to get moving in a hurry, take the lead and set sail,” Brian Brown said. “I like where our team is. Everyone is doing a phenomenal job and I feel like we’re in a great spot. We’re all excited to get to Eldora. Of course there’s a lot of money on the line, but it’s one of my favorite tracks. We’re going to do what we can to be consistent and be disciplined. The sky’s the limit for what we can accomplish.”
