Story By: BRETT DEYO / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco roars to life this Thursday, July 13 at Pennsylvania’s Bloomsburg Fair Raceway.
The Precision Hydraulic & Oil-backed STSS Crate 602 Sportsman North Region invades the Keystone State venue for a 25-lap, $1,500-to-win event, Round No. 3 of the North Region championship chase.
The event at Bloomsburg kicks off a string of three events in seven days for the Crate 602 Sportsman contingent, visiting N.Y.’s Fonda Speedway on July 17 and Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y., on July 20.
After races at Accord (N.Y.) Speedway and Brookfield (N.Y.) Speedway this season, Derrick McGrew Jr. of Ballston Spa, N.Y., leads the North Region standings over Joe Toth of Upper Makefield, Pa., Dylan Madsen of Spencertown, N.Y., Blaine Klinger of Walton, N.Y., and Jared LaBagh of Middletown, N.Y.
Thursday’s event marks the third appearance by the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman contingent at Bloomsburg. In 2021, the feature event was nixed by rain and all scheduled feature starters split the total purse.
Last year, Wallkill, N.Y. ‘s Travis Green was the Crate 602 Sportsman victor in a companion event to the STSS Modifieds.
On July 13, pit gates open at 4:30 p.m., grandstands unlock at 6 p.m., hot laps get underway at 6:15 p.m., and racing begins at 7 p.m.
Grandstand admission $15 for Adults, $13 for Seniors/Military/Students, $5 for Kids (ages 6-12) and Children 5 and under are FREE. Pit admission is $30.
