Christmas In July At Lernerville Speedway On Tap Friday Night

Story By: GARY HEEMAN / LERNERVILLE SPEEDWAY – SARVER, PA – Christmas in July, presented by Panza Supply will take over The Action Track on Friday night with festive decorations adorning the facility, providing a night of summertime holiday spirit amidst the backdrop of a four division racing program that looks to deliver another action packed night of racing! On the track, Fab4 racing Revved Up with Marburger Farm Dairy takes center stage once again on Friday night with the Peoples Natural Gas Sprint Cars, Precise Racing Products, Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds and the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks will all be in action as the chase for the championships heats up going into the final five weeks of the regular season.

AJ Flick brings a four race winning streak and a 55 point lead into Friday night’s Peoples Natural Gas Sprint Car program. And he’s coming off a performance that saw him win from the 10th starting spot last Friday night with his second last lap, last turn pass victory of the seasons. The current points leader now has five feature wins under his belt this season but will be taxed with the extra burden of starting on the tail of the field on Friday night by virtue of his three straight feature wins. Brandon Spithaler and Dan Kuriger hold the other two feature wins this season. Meanwhile, Tyler Dietz saw his points lead over Michael Norris shrink from 12 to five points in Precise Racing Products Late Model action as Norris joined flick in mastering the field from the 10th starting spot. 2022 champion John Garvin Jr, Ken Schaltenbrand and Levi Yetter all currently sit within a night’s worth of points (40) back from Dietz. Norris leads in the win column coming in to Friday night with three wins while Dietz and Garvin hold one win apiece. Gregg Satterlee earned the other feature win with the ULMS back on Friday, May 12.

Another hot points battle can be found within the Diehl Automotive Big Block Modified standings as Garrett Krummert leads Rex King Jr. by one lone point heading into Friday night. The two drivers have exchanged wins in their past two outings with King taking the honors a week ago. Beyond the two front runners, Jeremiah Shingledecker remains exactly one night of points behind which would generally mean that both front runners would need to fail to complete a feature for him to creep back into contention. Krummert and King are tied in the total wins on the season department with two victories each, while Shingledecker, Brian Swartzlander, and invading wins from Mat Williamson and Erick Rudolph complete the winner’s list within the division. Tyler Dietz is actually having as good a season as Flick when winning percentage is taken into account as he was crossed the finish line first in all but two main events with the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks. Dietz brings 46 points lead into Friday night, ahead of Cody Koteles and unless he should suffer calamity looks to be firmly in control of the division. Jake Dietz and Christian Schneider own the other two feature wins so far in 2023.

Pits will open at 4 PM on Friday with grandstands opening at 5 PM and racing commencing at 7:30 PM. General admission will be $18 while children 10 and under are admitted free. Pit passes will be available for $30 on Friday night.
