Outlaw Speedway To Lay Dormant Friday Night; Racing Resumes July 28th

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – The lights will go dim at the Outlaw Speedway for a well-deserved Night Off on Friday, July 21, 2023.

According to Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri, “When I put the 2023 schedule of events together, I built in three Nights Off for the season. We already had a respite in June, we will close shop this coming week and we will still have one event left on August 25 giving everyone a break allowing teams a chance to prepare for the Double Point Season Championship night the following Friday.”

With everyone’s hectic lifestyles away from racing Siri believes that drivers, fans and employees need an occasional break.

“Racing has become extremely time consuming for teams to say nothing about the expense of fielding a car no matter the division. It is a different environment than it was years ago. Families have things they want to do besides racing every week. There are countless activities that many of our fans, drivers and employees are involved with and by scheduling these Nights Off, people can schedule their vacations and other extra circular activities without losing a night of racing.”

The three breaks in the schedule also give Siri and his staff ample time to make any major improvements that he may deem necessary to the facility.

With the July 21, 2023, Night Off it will allow everyone to recharge the batteries and get ready for the Annual Steve Kent Summer Nationals that will be staged the following Friday, July 28.

On the card for that night will be an action-packed show including the only appearance this season for the ULMS Super Late Models where fans will be treated to the fire breathing, monsters of the midway as the Chris Zuver led organization will make a return trip to the famed Yates County Speedway after a successful 2022 engagement. The Super Late Models will race for a hefty $5,000 to win.

Also, in action for the night it will be a $3,500 to win 360 ESS Super Sprints as well as the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds which also pay $3,500 to pick-up the feature win.

Sunrise Insulation American Racer Tire 602 Crate Sportsman run for $1,750 to win, Brocks Bowl and Pizzeria Street Stocks will see the winner nailing $1,200 and both the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks and the NAPA Sponsored Hobby Stocks will find each feature winner taking home a check for $1,000.

It is also noted that it will be a full point show for all of Outlaw’s regular weekly divisions that are part of the event.
