Story By: CALE KING / AMERICAN-CANADIAN TOUR – BARRE, VT – With the persistent threat of rain on Saturday, July 22nd Autodrome Montmagny officials have opted to move the CAN-AM 200 to Sunday, July 23rd.
The American-Canadian Tour will make its second Sunday trip North of the Border for the 2023 season as the international stars battle for the $10,000 prize waiting in victory lane.
With the move to Sunday, so too comes a change in schedule times. The Pit Gates will open at 8:30am with Technical Inspection and the Tire Compound opening at 9:00am. Practice will begin at 10:00am with qualifying heats going green at 12:30pm on Sunday.
New Hampshire’s Jimmy Renfrew Jr. had a career drive to win the Claude Leclerc 150 at Autodrome Chaudiere in June, putting the pressure on the Canadians to successfully defend their home turf for the final ACT Tour event in Quebec this summer.
The Canadian-based Serie ACT Quebec hot shoe Raphael Lessard continues to lead the Quebec points and looks to defend his 2023 CAN-AM 200 victory against the larger American contingent led by defending ACT champion D.J. Shaw who’s looking to finish two positions better this time around and take the $10,000 winner’s check back to the United States.
The American-Canadian Tour heads north of the border once again for the CAN-AM 200 at Autodrome Montmagny on Sunday, July 23rd. One of the richest events of the 2023 season, including a guaranteed $10,000 check waiting for the victor, the CAN-AM 200 will pit the best of New England against the best of Quebec on one of Canada’s fastest ovals!
