RUSH Summer Showcase Takes Center Stage Friday Night At Lernerville Speedway

Story By: GARY HEEMAN / LERNERVILLE SPEEDWAY – SARVER, PA – The stars of tomorrow will be preparing to shine on Friday night as the annual RUSH Summer Showcase takes center stage at The Action Track.

Headlined by a $3,000-to-win Flynn’s Tire and Auto Service touring series event for the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Models with appearances by the RUSH Sprint Cars and RUSH Sportsman Modified Series, the evening showcases some of the best rising talent in the area who will show the crowd on hand what they’re capable of.

For this year’s showcase, the Precise Racing Products Late Models will also appear on the card partaking in a weekly battle as their season rolls toward Championship Night in August.

The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Models have already had an Action Track appearance in 2023 for the annual ‘Bill Emig Memorial” as part of the 17th annual Firecracker Weekend back in June. Max Blair kept the field behind him en route to the $20,000, 50-lap feature victory on June 24, topping a field of over 50 RUSH Late Models. So far in 2023, it’s been all Wonderlings up at the top of the standings as Jason Wonderling comes into the night with a 49 point lead in the Flynn’s Tire and Auto Touring standings over brother Mike Wonderling.

The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sprint Cars have graced the clay at The Action Track just once thus far in 2023 as veteran pilot John Mollick dominated the 24 car field on hand en route to his appearance in Terry Bowser Excavating Victory Lane. Chad Ruhlman holds a firm, 103 point lead over Brian Cressley in the season point standings coming into Friday night. Ruhlman has racked up six out of a possible nine feature wins thus far in RUSH Sprint Car competition with Mollick collecting two wins to date and Gale Ruth Jr with one feature victory. The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will also be making their second appearance of the year at Lernerville on Friday night.as Kole Holden held off Ayden Cipriano to collect the 20-lap feature victory. Holden and Cipriano come into the night tied atop the standings to this point of the season.

Also on the card on Friday night will be a little Fab4 flavor with the Precise Racing Products joining the festivities. Tyler Dietz currently enjoys an 18 point lead over 2022 track champion John Garvin Jr. heading into Friday night’s racing. So far in 2023, Michael Norris holds the division lead in wins with three while Garvin, Dietz, Colton Flinner, and an invading Gregg Satterlee (ULMS May 12) hold the other feature wins this season.

Pits will open at 4 PM on Friday with grandstands opening at 5 PM and racing commencing at 7:30 PM. General admission will be $18 on Friday night while children 10 and under will be admitted free of charge as always. Pit Passes will be available for $35.
