Heavy Afternoon Rain Dooms Southern Nationals Series Show At Swainsboro Raceway

Story By: RYAN DELPH / SOUTHERN NATIONALS SERIES – SWAINSBORO, GA – Heavy afternoon rainfall with plenty more wet weather on the way has doomed tonight’s Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series show at Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia.

The $10,053 to win event will not be made up during the two week miniseries, but track and series officials are looking at the option of a possible reschedule date (non-points) later in the year.

Next up for the tour will be a visit to Toccoa Raceway in Toccoa, Georgia on Tuesday, July 25, as a $7,553 top prize will be up for grabs. Brandon Overton picked up the win in both previous series trips to Toccoa, as the Evans, Georgia standout won in both 2018 and 2022. Jimmy Owens will bring a scant two point lead over Carson Ferguson into Tuesday’s Southern Nationals battle in the Peach State.
