Danny Dietrich Close In The Pigeon Hills; Williams Grove & Lincoln Speedway Ahead

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing were one lap away from securing their fifth sprint car victory of the season Saturday night at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway, that until Freddie Rahmer stepped in and stole the show, sliding “Double-D” in turn one on the final circuit to claim the $7,000 payday.

Despite the disappointment, Dietrich’s podium in the Pigeon Hills bumps his top-five tally to 24 in 2023, earning another just a few days prior in a High Limit Sprint Car Series start at Grandview Speedway on July 25.

Dietrich, ace of the Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, finished fourth in his High Limit Sprint Car Series appearance, advancing nine positions after starting 13th on the $23K-to-win A-Main grid.

Before losing the top spot to Rahmer, Dietrich held command for a large portion of Lincoln’s 35-lapper, taking the lead on lap 19 before losing it on 34.

“Disappointed, but happy to have a solid evening at Lincoln,” Dietrich stated. “We’ll be back at Williams Grove and Lincoln this weekend. We’ll try to be one spot better.”
