Nick Hoffman Rolls To Red Cedar XR Workin’ Man $10,000 Payday

Story By: BEN SHELTON / NICK HOFFMAN RACING – MOORESVILLE, NC – Nick Hoffman collected his fourth win of the 2023 season on Tuesday night with a $10,000 XR Workin’ Man Series win at Wisconsin’s Red Cedar Speedway aboard his Tye Twarog Racing / NOS Energy Drink No. 9 C&W Trucking / Longhorn Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Hoffman took the lead on lap 41 after the leader Tanner English jumped the cushion. The North Carolina racer paced the final 10 circuits for the victory.

“I was just trying to conserve there the first couple of laps, I didn’t want to get the right-rear [tire] too hot,” Hoffman said. “I was trying to judge [my line] off the lapped cars and they were running down on the bottom, so I just kinda started peeking out [on the outside] there. [Tanner English] was running around the top and I knew I was gonna do something different. It just worked out really well.

“We’ve got a great team at Tye Twarog Racing, and I can’t thank everyone who supports us enough. We’re excited to head to Florence [Speedway] this weekend and take a swing at that $75,000 winner’s check.”

On the heels of three days of USA Nationals action with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series action at Wisconsin’s Cedar Lake Speedway, where Hoffman’s best finish was an eighth-place run in Friday’s preliminary action, the team rolled into Gondik Law Speedway (Superior, Wisc.) on Monday evening.

The $20,000-to-win XR Super Series Super Late Model event drew 34 entries, and Nick edged his way into the main event with a third-place finish in his heat race. After starting 12th he slid backwards to a 14th-place finish.

On Tuesday night the XR Workin’ Man Series sanctioned a $10,000-to-win program at Red Cedar Speedway (Menomonie, Wisc.). In the field of 24 racers, Hoffman qualified fourth fastest in his group before recording a second-place finish in his heat race to earn the fourth-starting spot for the feature.

He bided his time in the 50-lap affair, ultimately taking control of the lead on 41. He went on to lead the remaining circuits to earn his fourth win of the year. Ricky Weiss, Tyler Erb, Tanner English, and Ashton Winger completed the Top-5 finishers.

Nick Hoffman and the Tye Twarog Racing team now turn their attention to the 41st annual North/South 100 at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.). The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) weekend includes the field being divided into twin $5,000-to-win programs on Thursday and Friday with a $75,000 winner’s check up for grabs on Saturday night.
