A.J. Emms Leads Flag-To-Flag In OSCAAR Modified Feature At Sauble Speedway

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OSCAAR – SAUBLE BEACH, ONT – Starting on the pole, A.J. Emms did not look back en route to visiting Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC victory lane after winning the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified feature at Sauble Speedway.

T.J. Edwards won the first JRS Auctions heat ahead of Ryan Dick, Dale Reinhart, Alvin McNicol, Wally Wilson, Dave Mathers, and Norman Newman. Newman’s race ended early when he made contact with the outside wall after going around as the field checked up due to a yellow flag for Edwards jumping the initial start.

Jason Keen was victorious in the second qualifier in front of A.J. Emms, Bryan Batty, Steve Trendell, Mike Hearty, and Tyler Liscum.

TJ Edwards went for the daily double ahead of Keen, Trendell, Liscum, and Mathers.

A.J. Emms got the checkered in the last heat in front of Reinhart, Batty, Dick, Wilson, McNicol, and Hearty.

When it came time for the feature, A.J. Emms started on the pole, and despite a mid-race yellow flag for an incident, he was able to maintain the track position throughout. By stretching out the advantage over the event to a straightaway lead, he was able to lead all 40 laps en route to capturing the victory. It marked his third consecutive win in a row.

Behind him, though, all eyes were locked on the battle for second as that was the story of the event throughout the full duration. Dale Reinhart held onto the position early, but it was clear others wanted a piece of it. Jason Keen found his way to the back bumper of the No. 51 first, and threaded his way by at the halfway mark.

T.J. Edwards looked to be fast in the early stages, but found himself at the tail of the field on Lap 7 after spinning Ryan Dick off of turn two. He wasted no time moving his way forward, finding himself behind the aforementioned battle. He made his way by Reinhart for third, and closed in on the No. 18 with hopes of gaining critical points in the standings. Despite being all over the back bumper through the final seven laps, he was unable to make his way by.

Jason Keen was credited with second ahead of TJ Edwards, Dale Reinhart, and Bryan Batty. Ryan Dick rebounded for sixth in front of Alvin McNicol, Wally Wilson, Tyler Liscum, and Mike Hearty. Dave Mathers, Norman Newman, and Steve Trendell.

The next race for the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modifieds takes place on Saturday September 23, at Delaware Speedway.
