Tony Stewart Racing’s Donny Schatz Finds Success In Home State With Podium & Top Ten

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TONY STEWART RACING – BROWNSBURG, IN – In all, a successful weekend in North Dakota for Fargo’s own Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, not only capping the two-race stretch with back-to-back top-ten scores, but finding the podium in the process, doing so at the always-exciting River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Friday, August 25.

Schatz, ace of the Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, MadJax XSeries, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, No. 15 sprint car, finished third in his podium pursuit, maintaining his place within the top three after starting from the pole position.

Although starting from the point, the lead was an elusive feat, losing the top spot to Sheldon Haudenschild at the initial start before Shark Racing’s Logan Schuchart slipped by later in the contest.

The following evening at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, the ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion finished seventh, and again not straying too far from his starting position in row three.

With all results considered, now at 31 top-ten scores in 51 Greatest Show On Dirt feature attempts, Donny Schatz remains sixth in the World of Outlaws standings, less than 30 markers behind KCP Racing’s Gio Scelzi.

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a trip to the Pacific Northwest for four races in five nights. First, it’s three nights (August 31-September 2) at Skagit Speedway (Burlington, WA) for the Sage Fruit Skagit Nationals with $26,000 going to the winner of the finale. Then on Monday, September 4, it’s a one-day stop at Elma, Washington’s Grays Harbor Raceway.
