Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OSCAAR – LONDON, ONT – Making his return behind the wheel of a modified, Shawn Chenoweth dominated en route to winning the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified feature presented by Lloyd’s Paving Stone Slinger Service.
Jason Keen won the first JRS Auctions heat ahead of TJ Edwards, Dale Reinhart, Wally Wilson, Chris Milwain, Dave Mathers, Jamie Cox, and Norman Newman.
Shawn Chenoweth was victorious in the second qualifier in front of Steve Trendell, Marshall Schrenk, Ryan Dick, Tyler Liscum, Bryan Batty, and Alvin McNicol.
The invert would see Shawn Chenoweth take the green flag on the inside of the fourth row with the goal of making his way forward. He was able to do that quickly, taking over the lead with just nine laps on the board. Despite a couple restarts that followed, he kept the No. 35c out-front through the remaining 31 laps en route to visiting Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC victory lane.
Chris Milwain made his way forward in the feature, breaking into the top-five with nine laps on the board, before out-dueling a couple of his competitors for a runner-up finish. TJ Edwards rebounded from an incident for third, followed by Ryan Dick and Bryan Batty.
Marshall Schrenk’s return to the series was met with a sixth ahead of Wally Wilson, who led the opening nine laps of the feature. Steve Trendell, Tyler Liscum, and Dave Mathers completed the top-10.
Dale Reinhart ran inside the top-three from the drop of the green flag until suffering a mechanical failure with five laps remaining, relegating him to 11th. Alvin McNicol placed 12th after an incident at Lap 13. Jason Keen showed speed early in the event, but contact with Edwards saw him hit the turn two wall to end his race with just seven laps on the board. Jamie Cox rounded out the finishing order.
The Just Foam It OSCAAR Modifieds are back in action at Flamboro Speedway for Frostoberfest on Saturday, September 30.
