Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CHRIS ANDREWS RACING – SANDUSKY, OH – With any new team comes challenges, but for Sandusky, Ohio’s Chris Andrews and Chris Andrews Racing (CAR), the challenges proved beneficial, helping shape the team’s potential in their very first season in northwest Ohio.
CAR, brought to life in last year’s winter break, would go on to cap their 2023 campaign with five top-five and nine top-ten finishes, and although personal goals may not have been met, the team’s progress was notable, padding their stat card with an array of highlights including a pair of runner-up finishes at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio – the most recent on August 18.
Other noteworthy season highlights include multiple top-fives at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, one of which a five-spot jump during Attica/Fremont Championship Series (AFCS) action on May 13. In fact, Andrews, a former two-time Attica Raceway Park track champion, was a frequent flier in AFCS competition, spotlighting all recent attempts with back-to-back top-ten scores during a Fremont Speedway doubleheader on August 4-5.
With October just around the corner, Chris Andrews and Chris Andrews Racing have officially concluded their 2023 campaign. The target is now on 2024, already planning changes and upgrades to outdo their “rookie” season.
“We wanted a little more out of this season, but with a new team comes challenges. We expected to have our share of struggles, but they always present ways to learn and improve. Our stats don’t tell the whole story. We were able to grow and adapt as a team, and I’m proud of everyone’s efforts. No matter the result, they kept a positive attitude and stayed focused,” Andrews, ace of the Ohio Truck Sales, Fleet Capital, Cintas, Ohio Peterbilt, Kenworth of Cleveland, Toledo Spring, NAPA Fremont Auto Parts, Burdue Insurance, TruckParts4U.com, No. 15C sprint car, said. “I want to thank all of our partners for their dedicated support this season. We’re privileged to be surrounded by a lot of great people, and it’s their support that allows us to go out and do this. I’m confident big things are ahead in 2024.”
