Billings & Stahle Take Action Sprint Tour Wins At Humberstone Fall Classic; Billings Clinches Title

BILLINGS TAKES AST VICTORY ON NIGHT ONE OF HUMBERSTONE FALL CLASSIC

Matt Billings took another big step towards securing the 2023 Action Sprint Tour Pinty’s National Series championship on Friday night at Humberstone Speedway.

Billings took his fourth AST Pinty’s National series win of the season on night one of The Fall Classic, while Mathieu Bardier, Ashton VanEvery, Tyler Willard, and Sheldon Bender claimed top five finishes. Johnny Miller, Adam Turner, John Cadman, Al Sleight, and title contender Lee Ladouceur rounded out the top ten.

The win extended Billings’ advantage over Ladouceur to 38 points heading into the Saturday night season finale at Humberstone. Mike Bowman entered the weekend with a chance at the championship as well, but a dust-up between Bowman and Brett Stratford led to DNF’s for both and suspensions for rough driving.

 

STAHLE SNARES FIRST ACTION SPRINT TOUR WIN; BILLINGS CLINCHES CHAMPIONSHIP

Adrian Stahle took his first career Action Sprint Tour win on Saturday night at Humberstone Speedway, while Matt Billings clinched the 2023 Action Sprint Tour Pinty’s National Series championship.

Stahle started on the pole and kept Adam Turner and John Cadman behind him for the duration of the 25 lap AST season finale. Title contender Lee Ladouceur came home fourth, but Billings finished fifth to lock down the championship.

360 Sprint Car regulars Dylan Westbrook and Nick Sheridan finished sixth and seventh driving cars normally campaigned by Brett Stratford and Mike Bowman respectively. Bowman entered the weekend with a chance at the championship, but he and Stratford received suspensions for rough driving after a dust-up on Friday night. Ashton VanEvery, Cam MacKinnon, and Keegan Baker rounded out the top ten.

The championship was worth $5,000 to Billings and car owner Ryan Hunsinger, while the top 15 in the final standings all earned at least $1,000 from the AST Pinty’s National Series points fund.
