Brian Brown Ends Impressive Lakeside Speedway Attempt With WoO Sprint Top Ten

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRIAN BROWN RACING – GRAIN VALLEY, MO – In all, an impressive night in the Sunflower State for Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing, not only capping their evening at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, with another World of Outlaws top-ten appearance, but leading laps in the process, racing on to conclude their performance eighth in the running order.

Brown, ace of the Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Mt. Dew Overdrive, HAWK Hunting, Ditzfeld Transfer, No. 21 sprint car, started from the pole Saturday night in the 25-lap Harvest Rumble main event, leading the first seven circuits before sliding back the running order. The nearby Higginsville, Missouri, native, who now calls Grain Valley home, kicked-off his attempt with the Greatest Show On Dirt with the second-fastest qualifying time, earning heat race and dash victories soon thereafter.

The top-ten achievement was Brown’s 32nd of the season, sixth with the World of Outlaws – a great momentum boost with the annual World of Outlaws World Finals just around the corner.

“Solid, solid, solid all night long,” Brown said. “We were good right out of the gate…second quick, won our heat race and won the dash. We probably just over adjusted for the feature, and although we led some laps early on, I knew we were in a little bit of trouble. The Outlaw guys are like sharks and if you’re off just a little bit, they are all over you.

“Overall, just a great night at Lakeside,” Brown added. “We just came up a bit short of our goal. We have great speed right now…just need to finish the deal.”

Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with the season-ending World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina, on Wednesday through Saturday, November 1-4.
