Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OSCAAR – PETERBOROUGH, ONT – Starting on the pole, Shawn Chenoweth did not look back en route to winning the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Autumn Colours Classic feature.
With the original event being rained out, the decision was to reset the starting grid with time trials ahead of the 40-lap feature. There was no doubt the speed in the No. 35c modified at the end of the session, with Shawn Chenoweth topping the charts with a lap of 13.499 seconds.
Shawn Chenoweth then cleared TJ Edwards on the opening lap, cruising away to pace all 40 laps en route to the victory. TJ Edwards ran second, with Bryan Batty completing the podium.
Tyler Liscum held off A.J. Emms for fourth, with Rick Spencer-Walt in sixth ahead of Brandon Feeney, Alvin McNicol, Rick Warnes, and Tyler Bouillon. Bouillon was the only car to not finish due to mechanical issues on Lap 12.
The rain out also resulted in only last week’s qualifying heats and show up points counting towards the year-end championship standings. As a result, Jason Keen was crowned the 2023 series champion.
