Kyle Reinhardt’s Stellar Day Slips Away Saturday Night At BAPS Motor Speedway

Story By: A2DPR / KYLE REINHARDT RACING – YORK HAVEN, PA – Kyle Reinhardt returned to action Saturday at BAPS Motor Speedway in the Capitol Renegade, Coors Banquet Beer, Henry’s Wrecker Service No.91 following a two-week break provided by Mother Nature.

The York Haven, Pennsylvania oval has been good to Reinhardt in 2023. He tallied an average finish of 5.2, including one win in his first five starts there this year.

The 37 teams on hand were split into four groups for time trials and heat races. Reinhardt was quick out of the box, posting the quickest lap in his group. He followed that up by going 4th to 2nd in his heat race.

Reinhardt took the green for the 30-lap A-main from outside row two and immediately grabbed the 3rd position. Over the opening ten circuits, he worked on runner-up Dylan Norris and finally took the position away on lap twelve.

For the next fifteen laps, Reinhardt patiently pursued leader Troy Wagaman Jr., looking and waiting for the right opportunity to strike to take the top spot. He pulled alongside Wagaman’s No.27 on a few occasions before a caution appeared with three laps remaining.

On the ensuing restart, Devon Borden attempted to squeeze under Reinhardt entering turn one but wasn’t able to do so cleanly and made contact with the Neptune City, NJ native’s No.91, causing the pair to spin.

Reinhardt managed to keep his mount rolling and thus maintained the 2nd position on the restart. Unfortunately, the damage sustained from the contact affected the handling and he slipped to a 5th-place finish during the final three laps.

“I had another great car tonight. I was trying to be patient in 2nd but got mowed over on that late restart. The car took a lot of damage and I struggled from there.“, Reinhardt commented.

“Thanks to my guys. Chris Shuttlesworth had the 91 tuned up! Big thank you to Capitol Renegade, Coors Banquet Beer, Ace Distributing, and Henry’s Wrecker for their continuing support. Felt like we could have had one for them tonight.“

This weekend Reinhardt will unload the Capitol Renegade, Coors Banquet Beer, Henry’s Wrecker Service No.91 in his home state of New Jersey for Bridgeport Motorsports Park’s Sprintoberfest.

The 410 sprint cars will be in competition on Friday and Saturday, October 27-28. Cars will hit the track at 6pm Friday and 4pm Saturday.
