Flooding Rains Wash Out Rush Late Model Series ’24 Season Open At Tyler County, Again

Story By: MIKE LEONE / RUSH RACING SERIES – MIDDLEBOURNE, WV – For the second straight week, flooding rains leading up to Saturday’s event at Tyler County Speedway have washed out the scheduled 2024 opener for the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series.

Thursday’s rain event totaled over three inches resulting in near-record flooding along the banks of the Middle Island Creek. Consequently, the pit area has found itself submerged leaving little opportunity for adequate drying after the water recedes with additional rainfall on the way before the event.

Stay tuned for a possible rescheduled date; nonetheless the Tour will visit “America’s Baddest Bullring on July 4 presented by Dave Poske’s Performance Parts then again on September 1.

The Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series will now set its sights on Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 20 for the annual “Herb Scott Memorial” paying $4,000 to-win. The event has a rain date of April 27.
