“Blackjack” To Resume High Limit Action At 34 Raceway; Knoxville Also On Weekend Agenda

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRIAN BROWN RACING – GRAIN VALLEY, MO – It was an up and down weekend in Kansas City, Kansas, for Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing, and despite highlighting Lakeside Speedway’s two-day Heartland of America Showdown featuring High Limit Racing with a 14th-place score on Friday, May 3, there were plenty of shining moments, one of which earning “Quick Time” in Saturday’s $50,000-to-win finale.

Brown, ace of his own Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Mt. Dew Overdrive, Ditzfeld Transfer, No. 21 sprint car, went on to win his respective heat race Saturday night, nearly trumping that result with a fourth-place outcome in the evening’s dash. The Higginsville, Missouri, native did his best to make improvements and contend for the five-figure payday, but unfortunately, bold moves led to an early exit, forced to settle with a “DNF” due to contact with the outside retaining wall.

As noted, Brown opened his weekend in Kansas City with a 14th-place score on Friday, advancing five positions by feature’s end after starting from the inside of row ten.

“Always great to be so close to home, especially for such a big event with High Limit Racing. It was basically right down the road,” Brown stated. “Friday, things just kinda started out a little slow and didn’t get qualified like we wanted. We got moving a little bit in the A, but ended up fading a few spots back to finish 14th.

Saturday, a much better performance from our Casey’s/FVP team. Qualified fastest and moved on to win our heat race. Tried to make as much happen as I could in the A, but unfortunately got up into the wall and had to settle with a ‘DNF.’ A bummer, for sure, especially for having such a fast race car all evening. Didn’t have quite the ending we had hoped for.”

Regardless, we have a fast race car, and if we continue to have a fast race car, the great finishes will come. Looking forward to getting back to 34 Raceway on Friday, and of course, Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.”
