Dawdy Racing and Bobby Herrington go trophy hunting in Brockville and Cornwall

Story By: TIM BALTZ / DAWDY RACING – BROCKVILLE, ONT – The 2024 season is officially under way for Bobby Herrington and the Kim and Dan Dawdy owned number 88Z DIRTCar Sportsman machine. This weekend it’s back to the weekend action at a pair of area speedways.

Saturday night the team heads to the Brockville Ontario Speedway for the second round of the DIRTCar Sportsman North Regional Series. Bobby is a former DIRTCar Sportsman Series winner, having won a series race in 2022 at the Brockville Fall Nationals, over Quebec star Sam Charland and former Super DIRT Week Champion Zach Sobotka.

Bobby had a great night this past Saturday coming home in the runner up spot in the opening round of the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series to Shane Pecore and just ahead of Can Am invader Gavin Eisele.

Sunday night the team plans to head to the Cornwall Motor Speedway for the second race of their 2024 season, which kicked off last week with a 25 lap affair. Bobby also had a solid showing in the feature starting 7th and eventually coming across the line in the number 5 spot at the checkered flag.

Since June of 2021 Bobby has been a part time competitor at Cornwall, but his results make him a threat to win every time he shows up. Herrington owns five career Cornwall Sportsman checkered flags and will look to add a sixth this weekend.

The team has been hard at work all week getting prepared to try and claim two more trophies for the collection.

Car owners Kim and Dan Dawdy thank everyone for their support from the returning sponsors and new partners such as DIG Race Shocks and Dirt Outlaw Apparel. They would also like to thank the race fans and look forward to seeing everyone this coming weekend
