Story By: BEN SHELTON / RAINS MOTORSPORTS – MEMPHIS, TN – Howard Moore enjoyed another successful weekend aboard the Rains Motorsports / High Performance Lubricants No. 3 Mike’s Pool Care / Stinson’s Industrial / Dyno Specialty LLC / JR-1 Chassis Sprint Car.
After qualifying for the Kubota High Limit Racing Sprint Car feature on Friday night at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.), the team escaped inclement weather at the Missouri oval to invade Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Ark.) on Saturday evening, where they ultimately won the United Speed Contest Series (USCS) Sprint Car main event.
“I appreciate everything the team does for me. They work hard to do all they can to give me the best car every weekend. A.G. (Rains) works tirelessly to keep us on the track and on the road. This weekend especially with rushing back to change motors to be able to race at home on Saturday night. A.G. and Mr. Gene always make sure I have the power in the motor. To say I am grateful to A.G. and our sponsors would be an understatement.
“We’ll look to continue our momentum this Wednesday at Magnolia Motor Speedway with another USCS event.”
Getting two nights of racing this past weekend, the feat required a little windshield time as the Rains/AR Dyno Specialty No. 3 Sprinter went from Lucas Oil Speedway to Riverside International Speedway.
Rolling with Kubota High Limits on Friday night at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.), the team made the show and managed a 19th-place finish.
Looking at the forecast for Saturday, the team shifted to a 360 powerplant and headed to the Fireworks 100 Speed Spectacular at West Memphis and USCS competition.
With 21 entries on hand Moore raced from fifth to second in his heat race to lock into pole position for the night’s 30-lap feature. Howard went on to lead every lap in pursuit of his fourth win of the season and third overall this year at Riverside.
The team has a single event on the docket this week with a Wednesday night visit to Johnny Stokes’ Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) for another USCS Sprint Car program.
