Bobby Labonte Takes Sadler-Stanley Racing To Victory Lane at Caraway Speedway

Story By: KYLE SOUZA / SADLER-STANLEY RACING – SOPHIA, NC – Bobby Labonte returned to SMART Modified Tour Victory Lane once again on Saturday night at Caraway Speedway. In a marathon of a Revolutionary 99, Labonte made a three-wide move to get the lead in turn one with just a few laps remaining and drove away on a final restart to score the race win driving the No. 18.

Labonte’s victory was the second of the SMART Modified Tour season for Sadler-Stanley Racing. The NASCAR Hall of Fame member and former NASCAR Cup Series and Caraway Speedway local racing champion bested Danny Bohn to the finish in the final laps.

“It’s been a few races since I’ve been with the team on the SMART Modified Tour, but I have to thank all of the guys who make it possible,” Labonte said. “Cook-Out, Pace-O-Matic, PSR Products and everyone else (at Sadler-Stanley Racing)… it was tough. The car got out of shape there for a while, but we pitted and made some good adjustments and caught some breaks. It means a lot.”

Pace-O-Matic team drivers Jonathan Cash and Luke Baldwin also competed at Caraway for Sadler-Stanley Racing on Saturday night. Baldwin was strong in practice and qualifying, but had a mechanical problem in the race and was sidelined early.

Cash finished 12th in the field, surviving quite the marathon of a race to come away with a solid finish in the eighth race of the SMART Modified Tour season.

The Sadler-Stanley Racing team will be back on track in their PSR Products, Pace-O-Matic entries with the next SMART Modified Tour race at New River All American Speedway on August 30.
