King of the Modifieds at South Boston Up Next For Sadler-Stanley Racing

Story By: KYLE SOUZA / SADLER-STANLEY RACING – EMPORIA, VA – Sadler-Stanley Racing will return to the track this Sunday for the third race of the SMART Modified Tour season at South Boston Speedway.

Along with the prestige of winning a race on the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic, this event, titled the King of the Modifieds, is worth $20,000 to win – set to take place on Sunday, March 24. The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, but moved to Sunday due to poor weather forecasts.

With some sponsor support, the event has pushed to a total purse of over $80,000 with 33 entered drivers. The purse includes payouts of $20,000 to win, $10,000 for second and $5,000 for third.

The Sadler-Stanley Racing team is excited to get to South Boston after a successful test there last week with both Luke Baldwin (7VA) and Jonathan Cash (16VA).

“I’m looking forward to running at my home track,” Jonathan Cash said. “I have thousands of laps at South Boston, so I definitely feel comfortable heading there with the Pace-O-Matic team. We’re looking for a good run in front of the hometown crowd.”

Luke Baldwin has opened the 2024 season with two top-seven finishes in his first two career Tour-Type Modified races driving for Sadler-Stanley Racing. Competing for glory at South Boston is something the rising Modified driver is looking forward to experiencing in a stout field of competition.

“I feel confident going into this race, knowing we have a fast No. 7VA at South Boston,” Luke Baldwin said. “It’s a super fast and high-grip race track, which I think fits my driving style well. I can’t wait to get out there and chase the $20,000.”
