Rain Drops Dodged At Flamboro Speedway Allows For Race Fans To Leave Thrilled

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / FLAMBORO SPEEDWAY – MILLGROVE, ONT – Despite rain all around the area, Flamboro Speedway was able to stay dry on Saturday night. The result was the fans in attendance being thrilled by the action on-track, and a chance to meet their heroes up-close during the autograph session.

Jordan Latimer won the first heat for the Freshstone Racing Great Lake Legends ahead of Kenny McNicol Jr., Jade Franklin, Andrew McFadden, Kevin D’Amore, Jimmy Hooper, Josh Hollestelle, and Joe Russ.

Cole McFadden won the second heat in front of Austin Arnel, Todd Tolton, Lonnie Scott, Matt Thompson, Hailey McNicol, Zach Hatch, and Kent Robson.

Jade Franklin won the third heat ahead of Kenny McNicol Jr., Jordan Latimer, Andrew McFadden, Kevin D’Amore, Jimmy Hooper, Joe Russ, and Josh Hollestelle.

Cole McFadden won the fourth heat ahead of Austin Arnel, Lonnie Scott, Todd Tolton, Zach Hatch, and Hailey McNicol. Kent Robson and Matt Thompson failed to finish.

Jordan Latimer kept the good times rolling for 705 Racing at Flamboro Speedway by winning the feature ahead of Cole McFadden, Jade Franklin, Kenny McNicol Jr., and Austin Arnel. Andrew McFadden put together a solid performance en route to sixth in front of Lonnie Scott, Kevin D’Amore, Hailey McNicol, and Zach Hatch.

Jimmy Hooper was 11th, followed by Todd Tolton, Matt Thompson, Josh Hollestelle, and Joe Russ. Kent Robson failed to finish.

Chris Howse took the green on Lap 2, pacing the rest of the first Grisdale Enterprises Pro Late Model feature ahead of Billy Schwartzenburg, Kevin Albers, Roland Goodfellow, and Logan White.

Billy Schwartzenburg led the second half of the feature two en route to winning in front of Kevin Albers, Logan White, Chris Howse, and Roland Goodfellow.

TJ Marshall led flag-to-flag in the first Grindstone Landscaping Canadian Vintage Modified feature ahead of Jae Pepin, Riley Willigar, Mike Podd, and Rodney Rutherford. Late Model regular Jake Gilbert was sixth in front of Steve Murdoch, Shawn Taylor, Maddux Pepin, and Samantha Trewolla. John Karley, Wayde Thorne and Mike Klotz did not finish, while Quinton Murdoch did not take the greeen flag.

Rodney Rutherford paced all 25 laps to win the second feature ahead of Ricky Willigar, TJ Marshall, Mike Podd, and Wayde Thorne. Jae Pepin was sixth in front of Steve Murdoch, Shawn Taylor, Maddux Pepin, and Samantha Trewolla. Mike Klotz, Jake Gilbert, and John Karley failed to finish, while Quinton Murdoch did not take the green flag.

Mike Gilmour led flag-to-flag en route to winning the first Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stock feature ahead of Matt Young, Bobby Mercer, Mike Thomson, and Michael Kenny. Kaitlyn Wallace rebounded from her motor issues was sixth in front of RJ Croteau, Rory Markle, Rick Seeley, and Trevor Hemingway.

Mark Grieve was 11th, followed by Nikki King. Shawn Taylor and Riley Mercer did not finish.

Matt Young kept the dream season going by winning the second feature ahead of Mike Gilmour, Bobby Mercer, Mike Thomson, and Michael Kenny. Kaitlyn Wallace was sixth once again, this time in front of RJ Croteau, Rory Markle, Rick Seeley, and Trevor Hemmingway.

Nikki King was 11th, while Mark Grieve, Shawn Taylor, and Riley Mercer did not take the green flag.

Spencer Riddell took the lead at the halfway mark to win the first of two Hogan Law & McClurkin Properties of Cambridge Pure Stock features ahead of Gary Slama, Wayde Thorne, Chase Mitchell, and Phil Givens. Cam Thomson made his way into the top-five, fading in the late laps for sixth in front of Leo Labarbera, Jordan Wilms, Mark Allan, and Courtney Scott.

Chance Rogers was 11th, followed by Rachel Mitchell, Chris Burrows, Mike Hall, Hailey Hill, Mac Ingram, Eric Stewart, Jordna Fidler, Megan Mitchell, and Sarah Penny. Alex Stewart was two laps down in 21st, followed by Jake Hambly, while Rick Mitchell did not finish. Craig Cole did not take the green flag.

Phil Givens took the lead at the halfway mark to win the second feature ahead of Wayde Thorne, Cam Thomson, Spencer Riddell, and Leo Labarbera. Courtney Scott ran inside the top-five at the beginning, fading back to sixth in front of Mark Allan, Chance Rogers, Rick Mitchell, and Chris Burrows.

Mac Ingram made his way forward for 11th, followed by Chase Mitchell, Alex Stewart, Craig Cole, Rachel Mitchell, Jordan Fidler, Hailey Hill, Eric Stewart, Jordan Wilms, and Mike Hall. Megan Mitchell was 21st two laps down ahead of Jake Hambly and Sarah Penny. Gary Slama did not finish.

The next racing event is scheduled at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, August 24, featuring the Ontario Sportsman Series. The night will also include the T.Q. Can-Am Midgets, Ontario Pro Challenge Series, Mini Stocks, and Pure Stocks.
