Macri Makes Late-Race Pass To Secure Kramer Klash Victory At Lincoln Speedway

Story By: LINCOLN SPEEDWAY – ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – Aaron Bollinger led the field into turn 1 using the top as the green flag waved, with Freddie Rahmer immediately challenging Anthony Macri for second.

Macri made an aggressive move with a slide job for the lead, but chaos ensued when Chad Trout spun in turn 4, collecting Chase Dietz and Danny Dietrich, bringing out the caution on lap 1.

On the restart, Bollinger maintained the lead while Macri applied heavy pressure. Rahmer made his move, diving to the bottom of turn 3, but Macri attempted a slide job in turn 1, neither unable to complete the pass. As Bollinger pulled away, the top three—Bollinger, Macri, and Rahmer—began riding the high side around the 3/8-mile oval, approaching lapped traffic by lap 7. Bollinger dipped to the bottom of turns 1 and 2 as they navigated slower cars.

A yellow flag on lap 9 for a tangle between Kyle Moody and Kody Hartlaub reset the field. On the restart, Rahmer overtook Macri for second, while Matt Campbell reclaimed fourth from Kyle Reinhardt. A mishap saw Rahmer hit the wall on the backstretch, allowing Macri to slip back into second. As lapped traffic again became a factor for the leaders on lap 15, Bollinger squeezed between two lapped cars with Macri hot on his heels.

Campbell closed in on Rahmer for third, while Rahmer, Macri, and Bollinger battled in close quarters. Rahmer moved into second, taking a shot at the lead as Bollinger held his line, getting strong drives off the bottom of turn 2 while Rahmer attacked from the top. With five laps to go, lapped cars running side by side added to the intensity.

A final caution on lap 30 for Robbie Kendall’s spin in turn 4 set up a dramatic five-lap dash to the finish. Bollinger went to the bottom on the restart, with Rahmer to the outside, but Macri seized the moment, flying past Rahmer for second. He then launched a daring slide job on Bollinger in turn 1, bringing them side by side at the line—Bollinger barely holding the lead.

With just two laps to go, Macri made the decisive pass, surging ahead and securing a thrilling victory, adding another $7,300 to his growing collection of winnings. In addition to the winners share, Macri took home an extra $1,000 after securing the Dean’s Auto Plaza “Run the Table” bonus by setting quick time, winning his heat and scoring the feature win.

Preston Lattomus Wired Field in Non-Stop 358 Sprint Feature

Preston Lattomus led the field out of turn 2, with Wyatt Hinkle quickly moving into second and Logan Rumsey slotting into third. Rumsey and Hinkle battled side by side at the line, with Rumsey edging ahead to claim second. Behind them, Cody Fletcher held down fourth, while Ayden Hare rounded out the top five.

Lattomus wasted no time pulling away from the pack, building a commanding 3.3-second lead by the time he reached lapped traffic on lap 8. As Lattomus expertly navigated the slower cars, Dylan Norris began challenging Hare for a spot in the top five.

Despite Rumsey’s efforts to close the gap, bringing the lead down to under two seconds with five laps remaining, Lattomus found clear track ahead with just two laps to go. He extended his lead once more to nearly three seconds, cruising to his first career 358 Sprint Car victory at Lincoln Speedway.

Lincoln Speedway is back in action on Saturday, August 31 with the $15,000 to win Kevin Gobrecht Memorial for the 410 Sprints along with the PASS/IMCA 305 Sprints. Then on Sunday, September 1 it is the $15,000 to win Labor Day Dual for the 410 Sprints with the 358 Sprint on the card as well.
