Woodhull Raceway Prepares To Pull The Curtain On August With Regular Super 7 Show Saturday

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – Woodhull Raceway owner/promoter, Niki Brewer will wrap up the month of August with a Regular Super 7 Show of all the weekly classes including the Insinger Performance Modifieds, Hometown Excavation Sportsman, Empire Crushing LLC RUSH Crate Late Models, Southern Tier Customs Street Stocks, Sawyer’s Camper and RV Service and Repair Hobby Stocks along with the Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s Quad C Mini Stocks and Youth Warriors.

For the Woodhull regulars it marks the last point paying show heading into the Superior Propane sponsored Season Championship Night the following Saturday, September 7, 2024.

With many rained out events thus far in 2024 (six), the point titles in each division are close and every driver that has a mathematical shot at winning their respective class title will be jockeying for position heading into the stretch run.

The Classics on Dirt Vintage Cars are also scheduled to be on the nightly card, and it will be interesting to see if the grandfather/grandson duo of Bob and Brent Williams will be ale to back up their feature wins when the popular traveling car club made their first appearance at Woodhull earlier this season.

For the Williams Family it was a huge night as Bob is the son of Woodhull Raceway’s founding father, George Williams, and has had ties to the popular Steuben County Oval since the track opened fifty-nine years ago.

Grandson, Brent has grown up at the track watching his father, Roger (Bob’s son) win in Modified competition before retiring from full time driving.

Brent has a stint in the Hobby Stock Division prior to focusing his attention on the Classics on Dirt Vintage Car Club.

Roger still competes from time to time piloting his dad, Bob’s machine at select Classics on Dirt events when his ninety-year-old father decides to take a break.

Rent a Tent of Mansfield, Pa will return as a nightly sponsor for the August 31 show and their involvement at Woodhull as a partner runs quite deep.
