Christmas In July Bicycle Giveaway Set For July 22nd At Woodhull Raceway

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – Woodhull Raceway will welcome representatives of the Addison Eagles along with the Addison, Bath, Corning, Hornell Lawrenceville, Westfield and Wellsville NAPS Stores as well as employees of Siemens Energy to the track as the nightly event sponsors for the Annual Christmas in July Bicycle Give Away on Saturday, July 22, 2023.

“The Addison Eagles is a great fraternal organization that does a lot for communities like Addison, Woodhull and Tuscarora and we are thrilled to have them here at the track along with NAPA and Siemens Energy to help celebrate the Annual Christmas in July Bicycle Give Away, stated Woodhull Raceway co-owner Niki Brewer. This has become a traditional event here at the track for some twenty years beginning with Scott and Amy Drake when they owned the facility. During that time Woodhull has given away well over 1100 kids bikes to a bunch of happy youngsters and with the help of the Addison Eagles, NAPA and Siemens we will keep the tradition alive this season”.

Age groups for eligible boys and girls will be determined when the track receives the bicycles which will be close to the July 22 date, but generally there are 3 brackets beginning with kids ages three thru twelve and to qualify each youngster that registers must be accompanied by an adult.

Bike Give Away Registration will be the night of the event at the Seeley Racing Junior Fan Booth located just inside the main gate.

On the track it will be a Regular Show including the Insinger Performance Modifieds, the NAPA Crate Sportsman, the Southern Tier Customs Street Stocks and the KMD Excavation Hobby Stocks. Also in action will be the Wicked Tee’s sponsored Mini Stock and Warrior Classes along with Front Wheel Drive Divisions. Rounding out the card will be the Doug Gross Construction RUSH Crate Late Model’s.

And that is not enough, the NAPA Crate Sportsman will run in a special King of the Bull Ring one-on-one single elimination event to see which driver will wear the cape and crown.

Pit Gates for the July 22, 2023 Christmas In July Bicycle Give Away presented by the Addison Eagles, NAPA and Siemens Energy will open at 3:30 pm. The Main Grandstand Seating Area opens one hour later at 4:30 pm. The first green flag of the night will wave at 6:30 pm.

The Addison Eagles is located on Rt. 417 just one mile west of Addison, NY and is an organization that takes great pride in offering a place of solace for all their members. Their efforts include several fund raiser Chicken Bar B Ques throughout the summer months along with weekly Friday Fish Fry’s and other weekly specials. They have a huge dining area capable of hosting large groups as well as a separate bar area. This venue has been used on countless occasions for everything from race car parties to funeral dinners, to dances and much more and has a large seating capacity with full kitchen services.

Nate Dunning who owns the Corning, Hornell and Wellsville NAPA Auto Parts Stores along Mike Bills and his family who recently purchased the Addison NAPA will all be at the track to join Addison Eagles in co-sponsoring the night of action.

Dunning is a former driver that competed several years ago at Woodhull prior to focusing all his attention to his growing family as well as purchasing the Corning NAPA Auto Parts Store on Park Avenue in Corning. Since then, his company has expanded to include Hornell which is located on Rt. 21 North as well as the NAPA Store on Rt. 417 West of Wellsville.

Bills along with his son, Brayden both compete weekly in the Insinger Performance Modified Division at the famed Steuben County Facility. Father, Mike drives for the Brad and Kim Herrington owned #21 Team and son, Brayden is the hired gun for the Team Kernan Operation located in nearby Jasper, NY.

Joining Dunning and Bills will be other representatives of Bath, Lawrenceville and Westfield NAPA stores.

Siemens Energy’s involvement at the Woodhull Raceway is new for 2023. Formerly known as Ingersol Rand, Siemen’s Energy in Painted Post, NY is one of the regions larger employers as they continue to be a world leader in renewable energy sources.
