Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OUTLAW MIDGET RACING CLUB – INNISFIL, ONT – After winning both his qualifying heats, Jason Metcalfe put together the dream run in the Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil feature en route to picking up the victory at Sunset Speedway’s Fall Velocity.
Metcalfe inherited the top spot after escaping a multi-car incident on Lap 2, pacing the remaining 23 laps en route to picking up the checkered flag.
Nick Spiesz, who won the first qualifying heat, ran second while Mike Bradley out-battled Dave Inglis and Tyler King for third.
Rookie Mark Grant put together a solid run en route to sixth ahead of Fred Homewood, Ryan Semple, Brett Dorion, and Derek Millman.
Several drivers were taken out in a Lap 2 incident including Kayla Semple, Mikey Homewood, Kevin Spiesz, Rob McCall, Russ Couture, and Rob Harrison. The accident started with Harrison getting loose down the frontstretch, and spinning out ahead of the field.
The next event for the Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil is at Flamboro Speedway on Saurday, October 5, as part of Frostoberfest.
