Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OUTLAW MIDGET RACING CLUB – PETERBOROUGH, ONT – Starting on the pole, Mikey Homewood ran inside the top-two all feature long en route to scoring his first career victory on Saturday night at Peterborough Speedway.

Nick Spiez won the first heat ahead of Mikey Homewood, Derek Millman, Jason Metcalfe, Russ Couture, and Glenn Raymond.

Larry Lawson was victorious in the second qualifier in front of Rob Harrison, Mike Bradley, Kayla Semple, and Jason Semple.

Mikey Homewood won the third heat, followed by Spiez, Millman, Couture, Raymond, and Metcalfe. Unfortunately, the heat featured an incident when Raymond and Metcalfe got together, before making contact with the frontstretch wall. Both drivers were okay.

Larry Lawson went for the daily double ahead of Bradley, Harrison, Kayla Semple, and Jason Semple.

Starting up front for the feature, Mikey Homewood grabbed the advantage and was set to grab a considerable advantage over the field. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, though, as Larry Lawson reeled him in as the race reached the halfway mark. Lawson made his move, passing the No. 17 to take over the top spot prior to the caution flying for an incident on the backstretch.

Mikey Homewood got a good restart, leading the rest of the way en route to winning, while Rob Harrison climbed his way to second in front of Derek Millman, Mike Bradley, and Jason Semple. Russ Couture was sixth, while Larry Lawson faded back to seventh after a spin through the frontstretch grass. Kayla Semple suffered an issue on the backstretch en route to eighth, while Nick Spiez did not take the green flag.
